meet our team

  All of our staff and teachers are trained in trauma-sensitive practices, mindfulness, and anti-racist curriculum. We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment for everyone. Our facilitators work in pairs to promote team building and accountability.

 Jan Michener has an MA in Education from Widener University and a BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY.  She is a certified trauma informed adult and children’s yoga teacher. Jan has led a number of workshops and spoken at the Educating Hearts Conference held in Montgomery County. She is an avid student of Michelle Johnson's Skills in Action. Jan co-facilitates our Trauma-Sensitive and Self-Care & Mindfulness Professional Development Workshops.

Jay Kimberley holds his MA in Theatre Arts with a certificate in Public Administration from Villanova University. His unique blend of Theatre of the Oppressed and Viewpoints pedagogy center the embodied experience in performance,. Jay recently presented his scholarly work as part of the online 2020 Philadelphia Theatre Research Symposium. Jay co-facilitates our Expressive Arts Workshops for in-care and adjudicated youth, as well as our Anti-Racism Professional Development Workshops.

Amanda Daley is a 500 hour RYT and a 200 hour RCYT. She began teaching with AHHAH in 2014 after participating in one of our Story-time Yoga classes! Over the last several years Amanda has grown with AHHAH. She is a successful children's book author and mindfulness expert. She is also one of our regular Bedtime Stories readers. Amanda leads our Story-time Yoga program, and co-facilitates our Self-Care & Mindfulness Professional Development Workshops.

Cristy Chory will soon earn her MA in Theatre Arts with a certificate in Public Administration from Villanova University.  Since graduating from NYU Steinhardt with a degree in Vocal Music Performance, Cristy has worked extensively in arts education and diversity, equity and inclusion spaces, including the past 9 years as the Lower School Drama teacher and Lower School Diversity Coordinator at The Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, PA. She is the Drama enrichment teacher and Middle School Advisory Coordinator for Horizons at the Episcopal Academy, where she also facilitates the orientation and anti-bias training for student volunteers.

Katy Lawton has worked as a social worker for La Comunidad Hispana and as a reunification social worker for Chester County Children, Youth & Family. She holds a bachelors degree in Sociology and has an extensive history in several forms of dance including: ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and West African dance. Katy received her yoga certificate in 2011 and has taught for Inner Source Healing and Energy Healing School. Katy leads our Mindfulness, Movement, and More program.

Aliza Mulloy will soon earn her M.Ed in Special Education from West Chester University where she will also be receiving a certification in secondary English. Originally from Oxford, PA, Aliza first met Jan at AHHAH's 5k/1k Run, Walk for Children's Literacy. Since then Aliza has been an integral part of AHHAH's Expressive Arts Workshops for in-care and adjudicated youth.
